Day 2 of the domaining revolution, now revealed as the Mystery Domain Auction, is upon us. It appears the bidding frenzy of day 1 has slowed a bit. My .45 cent bid yesterday was outbid before I got the confirmation. Today, bidding has been relatively slow and has been sitting at slightly over $2.00 for a while now.
I’m not sure how many hits this site is getting a day, (maybe Jonathan can shed some light here) but I think bidding is a great way to get exposure for a link to a domain name, domain auction, or
domaining service. I know that I myself have clicked quite a few of the bid links and had at least 10 hits from my .45 cent bid. I doubt that many visitors will go back through the bidding history pages, but as the bid amounts climb, your link will probably set on page one longer and get more eyeballs if you have something good to offer.
My guess is that as the bidding gets to the $5.00 mark it will pretty much slow to a trickle. I’m also noticing non-domain related links popping up. As daily visitor numbers are revealed, and if they are high, you will probably see a lot more of these. Again this is just my guess.
If you haven’t visited yet, you need to at least check it out. The idea was pretty clever, although the 100 days seems pretty long to me. Hope he can keep peoples attention that long. Anyways, good luck Jonathan!

I just bid $2.20 at the MysteryDomainAuction.com. The bidding is not as quick as it was yesterday. I wonder if the interest can be maintained for an entire 100 days.

I really doubt he can keep interest in it for that long. I would have kept it to 7 days or so.
